OneTV Connect can do more than play your live channels. With the Add-ons feature (part of Pro), you can paste an add-on manifest URL and let the app pull movies and shows from your own sources into the same cinematic detail pages it uses for IPTV VOD. This guide explains what a manifest URL is, how to get one, how to add it — and the usage rules that keep you on the right side.
What is an add-on manifest?
An add-on is described by a single link that ends in /manifest.json. That file is a small, open description of what the add-on can offer — catalogs, metadata, subtitles, or stream sources — so a compatible app knows how to talk to it. There is nothing to download and install: you just paste the URL, and the app reads the manifest to learn what the add-on provides.
OneTV Connect speaks this open manifest format, the same way it speaks M3U, Xtream Codes and Stalker for live TV. It ships with no add-ons of its own and hosts no directory — you bring the manifest URL of an add-on you already use.
Getting a manifest URL
You get a manifest URL from the add-on itself, not from OneTV Connect. Most add-ons that need any personalisation have a configuration page — often at a path like /configure. The flow is almost always the same:
- Open the add-on's configuration page in a browser.
- Choose your options (language, quality, catalogs…). If the add-on connects to a service you own — a debrid account, for example — you paste your own key here.
- The page then generates a personal manifest URL for you. Copy it. Depending on the add-on, the button may say “Install”, “Copy”, or show the URL directly — you want the link that ends in
/manifest.json.
Keep that URL private. Many add-ons encode your settings — and sometimes your account keys — directly into the URL, so whoever holds the link inherits your configuration. Never post it publicly.
Adding it in OneTV Connect
Once you have the manifest URL, adding it takes under a minute — on Apple TV, iPhone or iPad:
- Open OneTV Connect → Settings → Integrations → Add-ons. (Add-ons is a Pro feature; if you're on the free tier you'll see the upgrade screen here.)
- Select “Add an addon”.
- Paste the manifest URL — the one ending in
/manifest.json— and confirm. - OneTV Connect shows “Validating…” while it checks the manifest, then the add-on appears under “Installed add-ons”, switched on. If the URL is wrong or unreachable you'll get a clear “Could not add addon” message — double-check you copied the full link.
On Apple TV, use the native keyboard to paste — or add the add-on once on iPhone and let iCloud sync carry it to your Apple TV, since add-on URLs are stored in the iCloud Keychain.
Managing your add-ons
Everything lives in the same Add-ons screen. Each installed add-on can be turned Enabled / Disabled without deleting it, or removed entirely (with a confirmation, and you can always add it again later). You can add more than one add-on — OneTV Connect queries all of the enabled ones.
When a title offers several streams, you get a quality picker so you choose the version you want. For a series, the source you pick is remembered for the whole season, so you're not asked again on every episode; for a movie, your chosen version resumes from where you left off.
How it shows up when you search
Add-ons don't create a separate tab — they enrich what you already do. Search a movie or a show (from global search or from a detail page), and OneTV Connect looks across the full TMDB catalog, then asks your enabled add-ons whether they can resolve a stream for that exact title. Playable results go through the same KSPlayer / MPV / VLC / AVPlayer pipeline as the rest of the app, so 4K HEVC and HDR play smoothly on Apple TV.
Because some sources hand out single-use links, OneTV Connect resolves the stream fresh at each play rather than caching a stale link — so playback stays reliable.
The rules to stay compliant
This part matters. OneTV Connect is a player: it provides no channels, no catalog and no add-ons, and it does not recommend or bundle any source. The Add-ons feature simply lets you connect sources you already have the right to use — for example an add-on tied to your own debrid account, a metadata or subtitles add-on, or an add-on you host yourself.
You are responsible for the add-ons you add and for the legality of the content they surface in your country. Use legitimate sources, keep your manifest URLs private, and don't share configurations that carry your personal keys. Used that way, add-ons turn OneTV Connect into a single, tidy home for your Plex, Jellyfin and Emby libraries, your IPTV, and the other sources you legitimately own.
