Five engines, one of them ours

OneTVPlayer joins MPV, VLC, KSPlayer and AVPlayer — five playback engines in a single app, one of which we develop entirely in-house. It is now the default on Apple TV, iPhone and iPad for live TV, movies, series and catch-up: faster start-up, full-quality 4K picture, reliable subtitles.

Pause live TV for as long as you want

Press pause on any channel and walk away. Playback picks up exactly where you left it, with no reload and no loss of position. Nothing to prepare, nothing to activate: live control is armed from the moment the channel starts.

Rewind at any time, jump back instantly

Missed a goal or a line of dialogue? Go back and watch it again, then return to the live edge in a single action. The return to live is immediate — the stream keeps running underneath instead of being reopened.

A live progress bar you can scrub

The live timeline is fully navigable: swipe on the Siri Remote touchpad on Apple TV, or drag on screen on iPhone and iPad. A LIVE indicator shows your real delay behind the broadcast at all times, so you always know where you are.

Native Picture-in-Picture on iPhone and iPad

OneTVPlayer supports Picture-in-Picture natively. Keep the match or the news running in a floating window while you answer a message, check a score or browse another app, then send it back to full screen.

Change engine and colours mid-playback

Switch player or adjust the picture without leaving the film — your choice is remembered for that title next time. A badge shows the engine in use (OTV, VLC, MPV, KS), and automatic mode routes Dolby Vision and HDR files to AVPlayer for the best image.

Do I have to set anything up to pause live TV?

No. Live control is active from the second a channel starts playing — there is nothing to enable, no buffer to configure and no recording to start. Press pause whenever you want, come back later, and rewind as far as the session allows.

How do I move along the live timeline?

On Apple TV, swipe on the Siri Remote touchpad to scrub the live progress bar. On iPhone and iPad, drag directly on the bar on screen. A LIVE indicator shows how far behind the broadcast you actually are, and jumping back to live is instant — the stream is never reloaded.

Which players does OneTV Connect ship with?

Five: OneTVPlayer, MPV, VLC, KSPlayer and AVPlayer. OneTVPlayer is the one we build ourselves, and it is now the default for live TV, movies, series and catch-up. You can still switch to any of the others at any time — a small badge (OTV, VLC, MPV, KS) shows which engine is running.

What happens with Dolby Vision and HDR files?

In automatic mode, Dolby Vision and HDR titles are handed to AVPlayer, which gives the best possible picture on Apple hardware. Everything else runs on OneTVPlayer. If you prefer to decide yourself, a manual choice always wins and is remembered for each title.

Does the picture quality adapt to my connection?

Yes. On HLS streams, OneTVPlayer automatically selects the best available variant and steps down if bandwidth drops, instead of stalling. On direct 4K streams it decodes at full quality, and long sessions stay stable over time.

Is live control included for free?

OneTVPlayer is the default engine for everyone, at no cost. Pausing and rewinding live TV is a Pro feature (€2.99/mo or €69.99 lifetime), alongside Sport Centre, Multi Screen and the Plex / Jellyfin / Emby integrations.
