One programme, one press.
Touch and hold a programme in the TV Guide, or open a channel menu, and choose Record. The recording starts a little early and ends a little late, so the first and last minutes are never lost.

OneTV Server is the recording server of OneTV Connect. Install it once on a computer or a NAS on your network, then record a programme, a whole series or every match of your team from the TV Guide — even with a single-connection subscription.
WHAT IT RECORDS
Touch and hold a programme in the TV Guide, or open a channel menu, and choose Record. The recording starts a little early and ends a little late, so the first and last minutes are never lost.
Record series follows a show in the guide and records each new episode. Recordings are sorted into TV series and sport events in the library.
From a team in Sport Centre, Record all matches: OneTV Server finds the upcoming matches in the guide and records them as they come.
The server knows how many connections your subscription allows. When a recording starts it takes priority, you can watch the recording itself meanwhile, and clashes are shown before they happen so you choose which one to keep.
Schedule, watch and delete from Apple TV, iPhone, iPad or Mac. Devices on the same iCloud account pair automatically, and a request made away from home is confirmed in moments.
No port to open and no cloud recorder. The app hands your playlist credentials to the server directly, encrypted, and recordings stay on the disk you chose.
INSTALL
Download the disk image, open it and drag OneTV Server to Applications. Open it and click Start the server. If macOS asks, allow it in System Settings › General › Login Items.
OneTV Server lives in the menu bar and records to the Mac’s disk, even when its window is closed. The Mac does not go to sleep while a recording is in progress.
It starts when you log in. To start it only by hand, turn off Start the server at login in its menu.
Already use OneTV Connect for Mac? You can skip the download: in the app, turn on Settings › Recording › Use this Mac as the server. Keep only one of the two.
Download the installer, open it and click Next, then Install. Choose where recordings go on the way; nothing else to set up.
irm https://onetvconnect.com/server/install.ps1 | iex If Windows shows “Windows protected your PC”, click More info, then Run anyway: the installer is not signed by a paid certificate yet.
The server starts with Windows and an icon appears next to the clock. Right-click it to pair a device by hand, stop the server, or turn off Start automatically with Windows (also offered in the installer). Run a newer installer over the old one to update.
One line in a terminal. It adds the signed OneTV Server package repository, installs the service and starts it.
curl -fsSL https://onetvconnect.com/server/install.sh | sudo sh sudo onetv-server pair sudo onetv-server autostart on|off Updates arrive with sudo apt upgrade. Works on x86-64 and on ARM boards such as the Raspberry Pi, and on NAS systems built on Debian: OpenMediaVault, UGREEN UGOS Pro.
The server starts with the computer. To start it only by hand, run sudo onetv-server autostart off, then sudo onetv-server start when you need it.
Synology (DSM 7): download the package, then in Package Center › Manual install choose it. Recordings go to the new shared folder OneTV Server. Other NAS: add the container from the image below, with host networking.
ghcr.io/seidel76/onetv-server:latest QNAP: Container Station › Applications › Create, with the Compose file. TrueNAS SCALE: Apps › Discover › ⋮ › Install via YAML. Unraid: Docker › Add Container with the template. CasaOS and ZimaOS: Install a customized app. Ready-made files are on GitHub.
OpenMediaVault and UGREEN UGOS Pro also take the one-line Linux install. The server starts with the NAS.
On the Proxmox host, open the node’s Shell and paste this line. It creates a small Debian 12 container, installs OneTV Server inside and starts it.
curl -fsSL https://onetvconnect.com/server/proxmox.sh | sh curl -fsSL https://onetvconnect.com/server/proxmox.sh | ONETV_RECORDINGS_HOST=/mnt/pve/nas/TV sh The container starts with Proxmox. Options: ONETV_IP=192.168.1.50/24 and ONETV_GW for a fixed address, ONETV_STORAGE, ONETV_DISK, ONETV_RAM.
Start the container from the published image. Host networking is required so that your devices find the server on their own.
docker run -d --name onetv-server --network host \
--restart unless-stopped -e TZ=Europe/London \
-v onetv-data:/data \
-v /path/to/recordings:/recordings \
ghcr.io/seidel76/onetv-server:latest docker exec onetv-server onetv-server pair Set TZ to your time zone (schedules use local time) and point /recordings at the folder that should hold the recordings. --restart unless-stopped starts it with the machine. To update: docker pull, then recreate the container.
In Home Assistant, open Settings › Apps (formerly Add-ons) › Store › ⋮ › Repositories, add this address, then install and start OneTV Server.
https://github.com/Seidel76/onetv-homeassistant Updates come through Home Assistant’s own Update button. To pair a device by hand, open the add-on and choose Pair a device. It starts with Home Assistant (Start on boot).
THEN
On Apple TV, iPhone, iPad or Mac: Settings › Recording › Recording server.
The app finds the server on your network and asks “Pair with OneTV Server?”. Choose Pair this device. Your other devices on the same iCloud account follow automatically.
Touch and hold a programme, use a channel menu in Live, or a team in Sport Centre. Recordings appear in Recordings, ready to watch.
Recording is a OneTV Pro feature. The server software itself is a free download; the app asks for Pro when you turn on the recording server.
Any machine that stays on at home: a Mac, a Windows PC, a Linux computer or a Raspberry Pi, a NAS, a Proxmox server, or Home Assistant. Recordings go to that machine’s disk, so pick one with room to spare.
Yes. The server takes the connection while it records and the app tells you so. Meanwhile you can watch the recording itself, from the beginning if you like. When two recordings overlap, the app shows the conflict and lets you choose.
No. Your devices find the server on your home network on their own. Away from home you can still schedule: the request is relayed and confirmed in moments. Playing a recording needs the home network.
No. The app sends them straight to your server, encrypted. They are not stored on any OneTV server and nothing is recorded in a cloud.
Yes, by default on every system, so scheduled recordings still happen after a restart. You can turn it off: in the menu bar icon on Mac, the icon next to the clock or the installer on Windows, sudo onetv-server autostart off on Linux, and in OneTV Connect › Settings › Recording when the server allows it.
Synology DSM 7 with its own package; QNAP, TrueNAS SCALE, Unraid, UGREEN, TerraMaster, Asustor, CasaOS and ZimaOS through the container image; OpenMediaVault and UGOS Pro with the Linux install. Proxmox has its own script. The NAS must run the server permanently: very old models without Docker or DSM 7 are not supported.
Yes. The server, its web page, the installers and the Mac app speak the 30 languages of OneTV Connect, and follow the language of the computer or of the device that opens them.
On Mac, choose Uninstall in the OneTV Server window (menu bar icon › About), then drag the app to the Trash — or, with the OneTV Connect app, turn off Use this Mac as the server. On Windows, open Settings › Apps › Installed apps and uninstall OneTV Server. On Linux, sudo apt remove onetv-server. On Synology, uninstall it in Package Center. With Docker or a NAS container, remove the container. On Proxmox, pct destroy the container. In Home Assistant, uninstall the add-on. Your recordings stay on the disk.
